Mental Health Awareness Lakeshore is Holding Numerous Events Throughout the Month of May.
Last week on the Hello Lakeshore Podcast, Craig Dillon and United Way Manitowoc County Executive Director Ashley Bender spoke with education specialists Andrea Fischer and Anna Grunwald about Mental Health America Lakeshores’ upcoming events as we move through the month of May, also known as mental health awareness month.
To kick things off, MHA Lakeshore will be hosting 10 free family events from their great outdoors series of events beginning today (May 15th).
This first event will take place from 1 to 3 p.m. and is targeted towards homeschoolers within the community who are preschool to high school-aged.
This event will take place at River Edge Nature Center in Saukville and will consist of a hike, a nature-themed art activity, and a literacy piece.
Continuing, a webinar in partnership with Charlie Health will be hosted on May 16th, from 12 to 12:45.
It is titled Navigating Youth Anxiety and Depression.
The event will feature the clinical director for Charlie Health, Ann Matino, who will facilitate the discussion and will talk about the causes of youth anxiety and depression and interventions that can be used.
To register for this event, visit MHALakeshore.org. Â Ending the month, on May 31st, in partnership with Kohler Company, MHALakeshore will be hosting the first annual mental health awareness golf outing.
This outing will take place on the Irish course at Whistling Straights, with former Green Bay Packer John Kuhn as the keynote speaker for this event.
Although all of the spots are filled, individuals can still support MHALakeshore by participating in their online silent auction that will be live on May 31st.
