A 29-year-old Manitowoc woman is free on a $1,000 recognizance bond following a single-vehicle crash on the city’s southside early Thursday evening.
Casandra L. Beissert appeared in Manitowoc County Circuit Court Friday afternoon on charges of OWI-Second Offense, Resisting or Obstructing an Officer, and Felony Bail Jumping.
Officers were called to the intersection of South 35th Street and Calumet Avenue, where, after speaking to Beissert, they noticed that she was displaying signs of intoxication.
She was taken to a local hospital for a blood draw after failing a field sobriety test.
During the test, she allegedly became uncooperative, to the point that an officer put her in a movement restriction device.
Beissert was then transported to The Manitowoc County Jail without further incident. No injuries were reported.
The lone condition of bail is that Beissert maintains “absolute sobriety.” Her initial appearance is scheduled for June 10th at 1:30.
