The Manitowoc County Mariners lost to The Illinois Cowboys by the score of 24 to 12 in a Northern Lights Football League game played at Ron Rubick Municipal Field in Manitowoc Saturday afternoon.
The Cowboys scored the game’s first 24 points before the Mariners got on the board in the third quarter on a 54-yard touchdown pass from Marcos Alfaro to Austin Isley.
They added another score in the fourth quarter on an 8-yard run by Malcolm Young but would score no more as the Cowboys headed back to Chicago undefeated in league play.
The Mariners fall to 1 and 3 and will hit the road next Saturday for a matchup with The Wisconsin Ravens. Their next home game is Saturday, June 15th, at noon against The Fox River Renegades.
