A 32-year-old Two Rivers woman is free on a $1,000 signature bond after being involved in a two-vehicle accident last weekend that caused a blockage on a Manitowoc roadway.
Melissa L. Groothoff has been charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle while intoxicated-First offense and violating conditions of bail in connection to a previous legal matter.
Police were called to the 900 block of Quay Street late Saturday afternoon. Upon arrival, they were told that Groothoff crashed into her and that she seemed “out of it.”
Officers said that when they spoke to her, she had “slow speech” and constricted pupils. Groothoff failed a sobriety test and was taken into custody without any further incident.
No injuries were reported. The lone condition of bail is that Groothoff maintains “absolute sobriety,” and she’s due back in court for an initial appearance on June 24th at 1:30.
