The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources has announced its 2024 Invasive Species Action Awards.
Amy Kretlow of Plymouth has received one of three awards in the Professional Individual category.
This category of awards is given out to individuals who positively impact the fight against invasive species throughout the state.
Kretlow joined the DNR in 2016 as the Southeast Wisconsin Aquatic Invasive Species Coordinator and took over the state lead for the program in 2021.
Since then, she has put in countless hours working on aquatic invasive prevention and policy development.
She received the award for her commitment to furthering the understanding, management, and prevention of aquatic invasive species.
The DNR held the awards ceremony on June 5th at the Necedah National Wildlife Refuge, and a complete list of award winners can be found on the DNR’s website.
