Manitowoc County has set another record in tourism revenue.
The Wisconsin Department of Tourism has released its 2023 economic impact data showing Manitowoc County generated $226 million in the tourism industry.
This marks three consecutive years in which Manitowoc County has set tourism revenue records.
Last year, they generated $217 million, a $9 million improvement.
Courtney Hanson, Visit Manitowoc’s Director of Tourism, attributed the record-setting year to a robust collective effort, strong regional partnerships, and strategic marketing efforts.
Additionally, Manitowoc’s tourism industry supported 1,723 part—and full-time jobs in its various branches.
Manitowoc County was not alone in this economic growth.
All 72 counties in Wisconsin experienced an uptick in tourism revenue from 2022, generating $25 billion in economic impact.
This too, is a new record for the state as a whole.
