Governor Evers has appointed a new County Sheriff in Sheboygan to fill the vacancy.
Matthew Spence will be taking over as Sheriff following the retirement of former Sheriff Cory Roeseler on June 3.
Spence will be completing the remaining of the unexpired term that ends in January of 2027.
Spence has spent his entire law enforcement career with the Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Offices after becoming a patrol deputy in November of 2002.
After 20-plus years of service, hard work, and rising through the ranks, Governor Ever’s said, “With more than two decades of service in the Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Office, Matthew Spence is an experienced law enforcement officer who is committed to his community.”
Retired Sheriff Roeseler also gave his seal of approval to the newly appointed Sheriff.
