Wisconsin’s Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is advising the public not to take cicadas from state parks.
Reports have surfaced of people collecting cicadas from Big Foot Beach State Park in Walworth County.
The DNR emphasizes that removing insects from state parks is illegal and could facilitate the spread of cicadas across Wisconsin.
If these activities persist, the DNR may start issuing fines.
