Wisconsin’s Sixth District Congressman was able to help reunite a family facing persecution across the Pacific Ocean.
Glenbeulah Republican Glenn Grothman explained in his weekly announcement that his office was able to intervene and successfully bring the wife of Khue Vang from Vietnam to the U.S.
According to Grothman, in 2022, Vietnamese authorities confiscated Vang’s wife’s legal documents and threatened to imprison her because of the family’s Christian faith.
Despite several obstacles, his office was able to expedite Vang’s immigrant visa petition for his wife with the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services and later coordinated with the U.S. Embassy and Department of State for the rapid issuance of an immigrant visa.
However, the issue wasn’t easy because Grothman says the Vietnamese government confiscated Vang’s wife’s original birth certificate.
Vang, his wife, and their four children can now reside in the United States.
The Vang family met with Grothman and expressed their gratitude for his office’s help.
Grothman finished saying he will always fight to protect religious freedom, advocate for people to practice faith freely, and shine a light on religious persecution.
