A 53-year-old Manitowoc man taken into custody Thursday on child porn and multiple other charges appeared in court for a bail hearing Friday afternoon.
The Court Commissioner set bail at $100,000 cash for Paul Andrew Platt, whose list of charges includes two counts of soliciting a child representation depicting nudity, exposing a child to harmful material, possession of child pornography, stalking, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of THC and a Schedule One drug, each with intent to deliver.
Officers searched Platt’s northside home and seized more than 15 hard drives, several flash drives, and mobile devices.
Authorities say some child sexual assault material was found on at least three of the devices, along with printed photos of one of the two child victims.
They also discovered a bag of marijuana weighing just over 211 grams, plus a jar containing nearly 30-and-a-half grams of THC wax and approximately 5,000 grams of Kratom, a Schedule One drug.
Conditions of bail are that Platt has “no contact” with the victims or anyone under the age of 18, is not to possess any controlled substance (s) unless they’re with a valid prescription, and Platt is not to possess or use any internet-enabled device(s).
He remains in the county jail with an initial appearance scheduled for July 1st at 1:30.
