The lawyers for the man who last saw Elijah Vue before he went missing back in February are expecting to get more evidence prosecutors could use against them in their case.
Attorney Timothy Hogan asked for a new status date for 39-year-old Jesse Vang during a conference in Judge Robert Dewane’s courtroom Friday afternoon (June 28th).
Vang’s next court date, which will be another status conference, is September 27th at 2 p.m.
Vang is facing charges after a criminal complaint states he took Elijah from his mother, Katrina Baur, so he could “make him (Elijah) a man.”
According to the complaint, Vang would threaten Elijah with cold showers if he wouldn’t do what he wanted, which sometimes included Elijah standing in a corner and praying for hours.
Baur is due back in court next Monday (July 1st) in front of Judge Dewane.
Both she and Vang are facing chronic child neglect charges.
Elijah has been missing for over four months, and although searches from the public have wound down drastically, Two Rivers Police say their department and other investigators will continue to search for the missing 3-year-old until he is found.
