The city of Two Rivers is reminding residents of its dog regulations at the city’s beaches.
Currently, the regulations state that no dogs are allowed on Nashotah Beach and its concrete beach walk, except in the mornings from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
Dogs are allowed on beaches, at all times, south of Nashotah to the North Pier if they are on leashes.
In Two Rivers, dogs are allowed to be off-leash at the beach areas off of the Memorial Drive Wayside.
City Manager Greg Buckley spoke with Seehafer News to explain the regulations further.
“If you have a big dog that loves the water and you want to go to a place where, you should still have the dog under your control, but want to be able to get out into the surf and throw toys for them to retrieve, the beaches along Memorial Drive are areas where off-leash dogs are permitted.”
Buckley also said these regulations are in place to make the beach experience better for beachgoers and their dogs.
