Parents in Chippewa Falls may not be informed of every threat to their children’s schools under a new policy approved by the school board.
The policy outlines procedures for handling threats, including the criteria for informing parents.
Factors such as the nature and danger of the threat, existing security measures, and the benefits of notifying parents and the community will be considered.
The policy is a response to an incident last October when parents were not informed about a student with a threatening journal until the story leaked online.
