A Legislative Council study committee being run by Manitowoc’s Assemblyman in Madison has it’s 10 members selected.
We announced back in May that State Representative Paul Tittl will chair the Legislative Council Study Committee on Sandhill Cranes beginning this month with two members of the Wisconsin legislature along with other appointees, including one from a Rhinelander-based conservation organization.
An announcement from Wisconsin’s Green Fire says Executive Director Meleesa Johnson will join the committee to look at the sandhill crane population, crop damage compensation for farmers, and a potential hunting season.
Johnson says she’s “thrilled to represent the organization and bring a science-based, knowledge-driven background to the committee to focus on how to best support farmers experiencing crop damage and financial losses being a priority.”
Other members on the committee include farmers and other waterfowl organizations.
