An 81-year-old woman has been sentenced to life in prison for a nearly 40-year-old cold case.
Mary Jo Bailey was convicted for the 1985 murder of Yvonne Menke.
The mandatory life sentence was handed down by a Polk County judge yesterday.
The case was reopened in 2021, leading to Bailey’s arrest at her home in Arizona after new evidence linked her to the crime.
Prosecutors revealed that both women were involved with the same man.
