The Capitol Civic Centre has wrapped up its 2023-2024 season of events.
On Thursday (June 27), the Civic Centre’s 36th season came to an end with a performance by Jake Hoot, winner of season 17 of The Voice.
As the season ends, it allows the Civic Center and its employees to get a breath of fresh air in July before events commence once again in August.
PJ Albert, the Executive Director of the Capitol Civic Centre, joined The Breakfast Club on WCUB, where he explained, “It’s really one of the few times of the year that we’re able to spend some time working on those maintenance projects that we aren’t able to get to throughout the year. So both from the building perspective and the stage perspective, a lot of their work gets done during this time.”
Albert also told The Breakfast Club that the Civic Centre has completely revamped their website to be modernized and user-friendly.
This includes a brand-new ticketing system.
“We wanted to improve the experience for our patrons. We’re seeing a lot more patrons using their cell phones to access our website and purchase tickets,” Albert revealed. “We wanted to make sure that we have the technology that meets today’s requirements.”
July is their downtime, but the turnaround is quick. Shows will reconvene on August 15 with the 56th Kids from Wisconsin troupe performing.
