A national gaming organization is recognizing a Sheboygan business owner for her work in the industry.
An announcement from The Gameboard says Owner Lynn Potyen was awarded the 2024 Outstanding Contribution to the Games Industry award through the Game Manufacturers Association (GAMA).
Since opening The Gameboard in 2006, Potyen and her team have brought innovative gameplay to the community to stimulate brain development and advance critical thinking.
According to GAMA, Potyen won the award for her innovative work in advancing the use of games as tools to help stimulate and advance brain health. She was also recognized for her long history of advocacy.
GAMA continues saying she’s taken a strong position on the use of games as a vehicle for education, therapy, and socialization.
Potyen says she’s honored to be recognized with this award and is committed to continuing the work of making games the first choice for building better relationships, healthier minds, and stronger communities.
Other awards were given out to gaming businesses in Arizona and Illinois.
