The Manitowoc community continues to hold its breath as Jason and Tina Prigge continue their recovery process following an accident over the weekend.
We reached out to the Shawano County Sheriff’s Office, who confirmed that the crash occurred at 3:20 Saturday afternoon near the intersection of County Road R and Lily Pond Road.
Lieutenant Chris Madle also confirmed that the driver of the vehicle that struck the Prigges was arrested.
As of right now, she has been charged with Recklessly Endangering Safety, Causing Great Bodily Harm, however, additional charges may be filed in the future.
LT. Madle noted that a blood draw was conducted and that “there were some signs of possible impairment, but not enough for an OWI arrest.”
It is not clear what caused the unidentified woman to cross over into the other lane, but LT. Madle said investigators are looking into “things such as a search warrant for her vehicle and her phone.”
We reached out to Amber Daugs of Grow it Forward, who tells us that Jason is set to undergo surgery on his shattered leg today, and that Tina remains in the ICU where she “remains in critical, but stable condition.”
There was a post on a Facebook page earlier today that stated that Jason had passed away, but that is not correct.
