The Wrightstown and Greenleaf Fire Departments are reminding everyone to be safe on the water after having to rescue three kayakers over the weekend.
According to a Facebook post, both departments were called to the Fox River on Saturday (July 6th) for the kayakers who were in distress due to the current of the river.
When Wrightstown and Greenleaf Firefighters arrived, all three kayakers were found safe on the shoreline and were given a car ride back to the boat launch they started at.
The three were not wearing lifejackets to which Wrightstown Firefighters reminds everyone to always wear a one while out on the water because you never know when conditions can change.
They also remind residents that the Fox River is very high due to the amount of rain eastern Wisconsin has dealt with.
The fire department finishes by saying people should think twice before going out on the river until conditions improve.
