Tom Schwake, age 72, of Two Rivers, died unexpectedly on Tuesday night, July 9, 2024, at Aurora Medical Center, Two Rivers.
Tom was born on November 8, 1951, in Two Rivers, a son of the late Charles and Elaine (Kotarek) Schwake. He graduated with the Class of 1970 from Washington High School. Following high school, Tom worked at Metal Ware for a short time and was then employed at Hamilton Mfg. as a fabricator for 45 years. Prior to his retirement Tom worked as a custodian at Shady Lane and North Ridge Health & Rehab. Ctr. On May 13, 1978, he married Darlene Meineke, at Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church in Manitowoc. He was a Packers, Brewers, Bucks and Badger fan and enjoyed walking his best buddy, Riley.
Survivors include his wife: Darlene Schwake; son: Brandon Schwake of Two Rivers; daughter: Kristin Schwake (significant other, Sam Keys) of New Franken; brother: Jerry (Linda) Schwake; and sisters: Kay (Mike) Hicks and Sue (Chuck) Rozmarynoski. He is further survived by uncle and aunt: Walter “Sonny” and Shirley Kotarek; mother-in-law: Joann Meineke; brother-in-law: Tom (Debbie) Meineke and sister-in-law: Lori (Joel) Burmeister; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his father-in-law: Don Meineke and sister-in-law: Linda Meineke.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church, 3607 45th St., Two Rivers. The Rev. David Arndt will officiate the service.
The family will greet relatives and friends at the church on Saturday morning from 9:00 a.m until 10:45 a.m. There will be no Friday evening visitation.
