A plein air art exhibition is coming back to Manitowoc.
The Rahr-West Art Museum has announced it will be the home of the exhibition Plein Air by Todd Schabel from July 23 through August 3.
The art museum, in collaboration with the Wisconsin Maritime Museum, will also host a Paint Out event on August 3rd on the rooftop deck of the Maritime Museum.
This event will give attendees a paint-along opportunity during three artist demonstrations which are highlighted by Schabel. Schabel is a native of Central Wisconsin, a UW-Oshkosh grad, and an award-winning plein air painter.
Plein air is a form of painting that gets artists out of their studios and into the natural landscapes they are capturing in their paintings.
In French, it translates to “in the open air”.
Other demonstrators for Paint Out will be Bonnita Budysz and Robert Theaker in conjunction with their exhibit, Water Dance, at The Wisconsin Maritime Museum.
