The Wisconsin Sand Sculpting Festival is returning to Manitowoc.
It will be the second year for semi-professional and amateur sand sculptures from five states to build massive sculptures along Red Arrow Beach.
Visit Manitowoc Executive Director Courtney Hansen says last year the city welcomed over 8,000 attendees to the beachfront last year.
This year, the event is expanding, with 17 sculptors coming to Manitowoc.
There will also be a doubles division added, plus a sculpture that will feature a shipwreck.
Throughout the weekend, festival attendees can watch and chat with the competing sand sculptors, participate in hands-on lessons, and watch speed sculpting shows.
In addition to the sand sculpting events, there will be live performances, food trucks, beverages, and vendors each day.
Anyone interested can also participate in the new Sand Sculpting Boot Camp, which will teach skills in how to build a sand sculpture.
It costs $5 to get in each day, but you can pay $10 to get a three-day pass.
The event kicks off next week Friday (July 19th) and goes until Sunday (July 21st) from 10 am to 3 pm.
