The Sheboygan Police Department is investigating a scam involving gift cards.
On Wednesday (July 10), Sheboygan Police received a report stating a man was selling Kwik Trip gift cards door-to-door.
The man, accompanied by his son, was selling the $20 gift cards to allegedly raise money for his son’s little league baseball team.
A resident who bought one of the Kwik Trip gift cards told police that it was old and had already been used.
Recently, the Beaver Dam Police Department also reported a case that involved Kwik Trip gift cards in a similar scam.
Sheboygan PD warns residents that if they are approached to buy gift cards as a door-to-door fundraiser, ensure the seller can offer documentation.
This lets you confirm the gift card’s authenticity and avoid potential scams.
