The woman behind the wheel of the car that hit Tina and Jason Prigge is due in court today.
The 29-year-old woman has been charged with 2nd Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety, and two counts each of 1st Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety and Reckless Driving Causing Great Bodily Harm, and she is due for her preliminary hearing today at 8:15 a.m.
Additional charges may be filed in the coming weeks, as a blood draw was conducted shortly after the crash, which could take up to three weeks to get back from the state.
Her bail was set at $12,000 cash, and as of last word, she remains in the Shawano County Jail.
During Saturday evening’s candlelight vigil for Jason and Tina, another letter penned by Jason was read to the crowd.
Jason noted that while Tina is awake, “She has a long road ahead, she will need our help. She will need love and support to help her see a future. The loss of limbs is horrific, but I haven’t lost my beautiful wife. She is alive and fighting.”
He also reminded everyone to love each other “All the time, not just when it’s convenient or when you feel like it. Love is a daily practice, a daily meditation.”
