A comeback attempt fell short for the Manitowoc American Legion 16U team Sunday. Post 88 hosted Seymour and fell 4-3.
Jake Hillmer started off the scoring, pelting a double, his lone hit of the day, which scored a pair of runners in the 3rd inning, but Seymour would respond with four runs in the 4th.
Post 88 would score once more in the 6th inning but would get no closer.
Nolan Lettenberger and Aiden Rienke each also recorded one hit on the day, while Cameron Shilts suffered the loss, allowing four runs on five hits while striking out one batter.
The youngest Post 88 team will be back in action today for their regular season finale as they travel to Reedsville for a 5:30 p.m. start.
