Saturday’s regular-season finale for the Manitowoc County Mariners was, in coach Marcos Alfaro’s words, a “slobber knocker,” but the Mariners pulled out the 10-0 win over the Wisconsin Ravens.
Linebacker Carson Schemenauer had a phenomenal day, recording 6 tackles, 2 sacks and a blocked punt.
Defensive tackle Tyrrell Bullock also had a sack and a forced fumble that was recovered by Miguel Myers, who ended the season with 13 sacks.
Offensively, Malcome Young rushed 16 times for 72 yards while Marcos Alfaro II went 16/24, passing for 147 yards and recorded a rushing touchdown.
The Mariners ended the regular season with a 5-1 record against North Division opponents and will be taking on the Ravens again in the opening round of the Northern Lights Football League playoffs.
That game will be played on Saturday, July 27th in Winneconne, however the time has not yet been determined.
