The City of Appleton will be offering sand and bags to residents to prepare for potential future flooding.
Sand and empty bags will be provided until Friday (July 19) from 7:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. each day at Memorial Park located at 1620 East Witzke Boulevard in Appleton.
Residents will be required to fill the bags themselves and are responsible for loading and transporting them as well.
Filling and lifting sandbags can be physically demanded so having two people to do so is recommended. Shovels and pick-up trucks are also recommended.
More information regarding the sandbags and flooding recovery efforts can be found online on the City of Appleton Government Facebook page.
