Two people involved in an Omro shooting led law enforcement on an intense police chase.
The Omro Police Department responded to a disturbance with a weapon in the 300 block of East Main Street just after 7:15 Monday evening.
Upon Arrival, they learned the suspects fled before the officers were on the scene. The shooting victim, a 65-year-old man, is alive and recovering.
It was revealed he had placed an ad on Facebook Marketplace to sell a car.
The two suspects, a 27-year-old Green Bay woman and a 45-year-old Milwaukee man, quickly got into an altercation with the victim which ended in gunshots.
They then fled the scene in a U-Haul box truck and were quickly located by police. Once located, a multijurisdictional chase ensued heading southbound on I-41.
Fond du Lac Police began blocking off-ramps to keep the chase on the interstate. Additionally, a tire deflation device was deployed successfully on the box truck, but the suspects did not stop there.
The truck then avoided a police cruiser on the Johnson Street exit and got off I-41.
Shortly after, a PIT maneuver was performed, and the chase finally came to an end at the intersection of Johnson Street and Rolling Meadows Drive.
The two were subsequently arrested and have been charged with a litany of charges, which include but are not limited to, Attempted 1st Degree Intentional Homicide, Flee/Elude an Officer, Motor Vehicle Theft, and Possession of Cocaine.
It is expected that other law enforcement jurisdictions will have their own charges related to the case.
