The Manitowoc County Fish and Game Association has completed a member audit.
This audit was carried out to measure the involvement in the 24 different sporting organizations that they are comprised of.
It was revealed in the audit that these 24 clubs are made up of just under 5,000 community members.
This number does appear impressive, however, the audits’ results also showed that membership is down substantially from peak numbers over the past decade.
Other issues that this audit presented included struggles in attracting youth members, replacing leadership, and finding much-needed volunteers.
Following the member audit, which was part of Manitowoc County’s Conservation Study, Fish and Game has identified attracting youth members as their top goal.
The Development Committee will be adding guidance and programming in the future.
Fish and Game will also work to inform the community and leaders of the positive contribution these 24 clubs have on Manitowoc County.
