The Manitowoc American Legion’s 17U baseball team fell short against Fond du Lac last night.
The Post 75 Lakers were down 3-2 entering the 5th inning but plated six runs over the final three frames to earn the 8-3 win.
Manitowoc Post 88 had runs batted in by Benson Dickrell and Nicholas Braun, while Denzell Estella tagged up on a sacrifice fly to round out Manitowoc’s early scoring.
It was a tough day for Post 88, as they only notched 4 hits and committed 4 errors in the loss.
Three pitchers split time on the mound, each giving up at least 2 runs, but Dickrell suffered the loss in his 2 and two-thirds innings of relief.
The 17U squad ends the regular season with a 13-6 record and will begin postseason play on Friday.
Manitowoc will be hosting Kewaunee in the opener, which will begin at 7:30 p.m. at Municipal Field.
