Police in Milwaukee have reported that a man they shot and wounded overnight was wanted for a double-shooting and had fired shots at officers.
The incident occurred at a gas station on Capitol Drive, far from the RNC.
Authorities located the suspect at the gas station, where he drew a rifle and shot at them. Both the suspect and officers took cover.
After some negotiation, the suspect exited the gas station and fired additional shots, prompting the officers to shoot and wound him.
The suspect is described as a 22-year-old man, and three officers were involved in the shooting.
