16U and 17U American Legion baseball teams around the state are beginning their postseason runs today.
Starting with the 16U Regional #3, eight teams have converged in Seymour for the opening day of the regional tournament.
Oshkosh is opening up the day against Neenah and will be followed by Kaukauna and Fond du Lac. Manitowoc Post 88 will be battling the host team, and Kimberly will battle Wrightstown in the final game of day 1.
Winners of the regional tournaments around the state will advance to the state tournament at Baraboo next weekend.
Meanwhile, Manitowoc is playing host to the 17U regional tournament featuring just four teams. Reedsville and Sheboygan will start the day off, followed by Manitowoc and Kewaunee County.
The winners will battle for a regional crown, and a spot at the state tournament in Kimberly next weekend.
Meanwhile, the Manitowoc 19U team has a warmup tournament in Plover ahead of their regional play. Post 88 is starting the tournament off against Sheboygan at 2:30 this afternoon, and will face Baraboo at 5:00 p.m.
The 19U regionals will begin next week Tuesday (July 23rd), with Manitowoc playing in Appleton.
