The Department of Natural Resources is investigating a manure spill that happened in Outagamie and Brown Counties.
On Tuesday (July 16th), the DNR was made aware that manure was observed in Dutchmen Creek in eastern Outagamie and western Brown Counties.
Directly following their notification of the spill, DNR staff saw many dead fish in the creek. At the road crossing of Dutchman Creek, manure-impacted water was observed at Bain Road, County Road U, Cyprus Drive, Packerland Drive, and Circle Drive.
DNR and County Land Conservation staff have been on location since they received the news although no definitive source has yet been identified.
There is no apparent threat to drinking water wells in the area, but it is recommended that people and their pets avoid the Dutchman Creek waters.
The investigation is still ongoing.
