A former Monroe County deputy is facing sexual assault charges in La Crosse County.
Last month, prosecutors charged 29-year-old Aaron Yang, who appeared in court yesterday to respond to these charges.
Yang is accused of having sex with a 16-year-old girl last year.
The victim told investigators that Yang invited her to babysit his daughter at his apartment in La Crosse.
The La Crosse Police Department began investigating the case in May, leading to Yang’s arrest in June.
He resigned from the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office two weeks after his arrest.
The Monroe County Sheriff has announced an internal investigation.
