The city of Two Rivers is celebrating the Schmitt Brothers this weekend.
Harmony Lives on the Schmitt Brothers States is a family-friendly event that features barbershop singers, including the Clipper City Chordsman, food, and fun in Central Park.
That is the park where the Schmitt Brothers quartet came to after winning the Society for the Preservation of Encouragement of Barber Shop Quartet Singing in American title in 1951.
Following the outstanding success of the barbershop show at the Schmitt Brothers Stage dedication last summer, organizers would like to make this an annual event dedicated to the spirit of harmony that Jim, Joe, Paul, and Fran Schmitt worked so hard to nurture everywhere they performed during their 35-year career.
The event takes place from 6 to 7:30 pm on the Schmitt Brothers stage.
Burgers and brats will be served by Grow It Forward, while the Washington House Museum will serve ice cream.
The Schmitt Brothers Stage is the first and only stage in the country dedicated to a barbershop quartet.
