A 33-year-old Two Rivers man is officially charged following a vehicle pursuit early Monday morning in Manitowoc County.
Joshua J. Kintgen posted $5,000 cash bail Monday afternoon and is facing charges of Operating While Intoxicated-Fourth Offense, Second-Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety, and Fleeing/Eluding an Officer.
Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a complaint at the intersection of West Zander Road and County Highway B in The Town of Gibson for a vehicle parked in the wrong lane of travel with Kintgen passed out behind the wheel.
Open intoxicants were spotted in the vehicle. He eventually awoke and had, according to deputies, shown “observable signs of impairment.”
After acknowledging the deputy’s presence, Kintgen revved up the vehicle’s engine and drove away.
Additional deputies aided in pursuit and successfully deployed tire deflation devices, which slowed down the vehicle and ended the ten-minute chase that covered fourteen-and-a-half miles through northeast Manitowoc County.
No one was hurt. Kintgen’s bail conditions are that he does not operate any motor vehicle and maintains absolute sobriety. His initial appearance is set for July 29th at 1:30.
