Public health officials in Wisconsin are addressing outbreaks of whooping cough and dengue fever.
Public Health Madison & Dane County reported 43 cases of whooping cough in the past two months, primarily among teenagers.
Fond du Lac has also seen a spike in teenage whooping cough cases.
Health officials have not determined the origin or connection of these cases.
In Eau Claire, the city/county health department reported 12 cases of dengue fever this year.
Dengue fever, spread by mosquitoes not found in Wisconsin, has affected individuals who traveled to tropical regions.
There is no concern about dengue fever spreading locally, as it is not transmissible from person to person.
