The Green Bay Packers’ offensive backfield is going to look a bit different this year with Josh Jacobs coming in from Las Vegas and Aaron Jones going to Minnesota.
One part that is staying the same is A.J. Dillon
He has become a fan favorite over the years for his gameplay, his work with local charities, and his dedication to the Green Bay area.
We were able to speak with Dillon one-on-one, and while he called Jones his “brother,” the man known as “Quadzilla” says he has enjoyed having Jacobs around.
“He is a great competitor,” Dillon noted. “Obviously a veteran in the league, so, you know I can learn from him just as much as I can help him learn the offense that I’ve been in for a while.”
On top of Jacobs being a phenomenal talent, Dillon praised his attitude and his mindset.
“Josh is awesome…It’s been great to get to know him,” he said. “Great to get to working on that chemistry with us both in the backfield, at times.”
Jacobs, a two time Pro Bowler and 2022 NFL rushing leader, had nothing but high praise for Dillon in return, pointing to how he helped acclimate the newest addition to the running back room into the Packers organization.
“It’s helped me, you know, come in and just feel comfortable, you know, like if I have questions about anything. They are more than willing to help me out,” the former Raider explained. “Not only that, man, like just the lay of the land and everything.”
While Jacobs comes to the Pack with plenty of accolades behind him, he told us he is not resting on those previous accomplishments, saying, “(I’m) just trying to get in a, you know, earn a respect to the guys, you know, decide upon my best foot forward every day.”
Jacobs and Dillon have both looked great through the first few days of camp, despite not having their main signal caller under center.
Jordan Love was again without a helmet Wednesday as he awaits his new, potential record-breaking contract.
