One person is dead, and two others are injured following a car accident that happened in Fond du Lac County.
On Thursday (July 25) at 7:40 a.m., the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office received multiple calls reporting a two-vehicle crash in the Township of Fond du Lac on County Highway D.
The driver of the southbound vehicle, a 19-year-old man from Pharr, Texas, was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle following a head-on collision.
He was pronounced dead on the scene.
Upon investigation, it was determined that the southbound vehicle driven by the Texas man failed to negotiate a turn, overcorrected, and entered the northbound lane.
This resulted in a head-on collision with the southbound car, driven by a 48-year-old Oakfield woman who was unharmed.
Two other passengers in the southbound vehicle sustained minor injuries.
Witnesses on the scene of the crash reported seeing the 19-year-old speeding before the accident.
The names of all individuals involved are not being released, and it is suspected high speeds and alcohol played a factor in the fatal crash.
