A teenager has been arrested in relation to a fire in the Fond du Lac High School’s concession stand bathroom.
As previously reported, the fire took place on July 5th, the last day of school for Fond du Lac High students.
The Fond du Lac Police Department and Fire/Rescue responded to the fire at the school to extinguish the blaze that resulted in heavy smoke and soot damage.
Over the last two months, Detective Lee Mikulec conducted interviews, processed evidence, and inspected video surveillance footage.
This led Detective Mikulec to identify a person of interest and, on July 31, took a 16-year-old male into custody.
He is currently being held at the Fond du Lac County Secure Detention Center for First Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety, Felony Criminal Damage to Property, and Arson.
Concerning the investigation, no further details are available at this time and Fond du Lac Chief of Police Aaron Goldstein said, “From the onset of this senseless and dangerous crime, Detective Mikulec worked tirelessly to ensure those involved would be held accountable.”
