A police chase and subsequent shooting in Milwaukee has captured widespread attention after the release of a video depicting the incident.
The footage from a June chase on I-43 shows officers pursuing a stolen SUV through city streets, onto the interstate, and into a construction lane.
When officers attempt to apprehend the driver, he reverses the vehicle, nearly striking an officer, prompting the police to open fire.
The chase resulted in the deaths of a Milwaukee teenager and an unborn baby.
Investigators revealed that the teenagers in the stolen SUV were suspects in an armed robbery and carjacking, and a deputy’s stolen gun was found in their vehicle.
