Wisconsin lawmakers are focusing on the state’s youth prisons, with a hearing scheduled by the Senate Committee on Judiciary and Public Safety.
The hearing, set for tomorrow in Merrill, aims to address concerns about Lincoln Hills and Copper Lake Schools.
Corrections Secretary Jared Hoy is expected to testify first.
Lincoln Hills has recently come under scrutiny following a fatal attack on a teacher by an inmate in late June.
Both Lincoln Hills and Copper Lake have faced longstanding issues, leading some lawmakers to advocate for their closure for years.
