Wisconsin’s Department of Workforce Development (DWD) issued a warning about a significant impending nurse shortage.
The DWD anticipates that the state will be short nearly 20,000 nurses by 2040.
Even the lower estimates predict a shortage of 12,000 nurses, raising concerns within the agency.
The shortage is attributed to an increasing demand for medical care and a lack of qualified nurses to fill new positions.
