For the first time in a decade, the Shoreland League Championship will not feature the Manitowoc Bandits.
The Casco A’s completed the upset last night at Municipal Field, beating the Bandits 7-3.
The A’s scored all of their runs in the first 4 innings, with Owen Deprez blasting a 2 run homer to open the scoring.
The winning pitcher was Tanner Alsteen, who went the distance, allowing just 2 earned runs while striking out 9 Bandit batters.
Casco will be facing the Denmark Devilbears, who bested the Algoma Guins 7-1 to advance.
The championship series will begin Monday at Village Park in Casco, with a 7:30 first pitch.
Bandits Coach Chris Cisler wished both teams the best of luck while praising his team for winning their 6th straight regular season title.
