Buildings on the former Lakeshore Mall property are starting to be taken down. Construction crews are starting to deconstruct the roof and inside of the former Lakeshore Mall.
Crews have continuously worked on ripping up the parking lot of the former malls. The city purchased the property back in April to redo the entire area and get it redeveloped.
It was announced in May that the city officially owned it.
It’s not entirely known what will go on the property after it’s seeded for development, but with 36 acres available, there could be multiple options.
The money for demolition is coming through an already created Tax Increment District or TID. Full demolition of the mall site should be done around September.
