After several months of road reconstruction, a major Manitowoc thoroughfare is now completely reopened.
County Road R, also known as Rapids Road, reopened to traffic Thursday afternoon after previously only being opened to southbound traffic.
Crews completely rebuilt the roadway starting north of the Waldo Boulevard intersection, with the initial completion date estimated to be around the end of August.
However, due to good weather and quick hands, the project was completed ahead of schedule.
