Edward C. Kent, age 69, passed peacefully at his residence in Manitowoc on July 18, 2024.
Edward was born December 28, 1954, in Kansas. He was the son of Leo and Mary Kent. He grew up in Kansas and then moved to Arizona where he later met the love of his life, Patricia Groblewski. In 1989, he got an opportunity in Manitowoc and moved along with his wife and children to a new city. Over the years, he worked at Eck, Stecker, and Kohler Industries. Ed was a huge sports fan and he loved the Milwaukee Brewers, Green Bay Packers, and Kansas City Chiefs. His passion was to talk politics, even if you didn’t want to. He loved his cats. He had many cats over the years. His remaining cats were McGruber, Sweetie, and Riff Raff. Ed had a lot of tools and enjoyed tinkering on his many projects.
Ed is survived by his children Jonathan Kent and Ryan Kent of Milwaukee; grandchildren: Brayden Kent, Lily Kent, Ruby Kent, and Jaxson Kent; siblings Terry Kent and Daryel Kent; special friend and roommate Darren Klein – perhaps the only man who understood him; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Leo and Mary; son Matthew Kent; siblings Fred Kent, Gerry Heckman, and Glenda Ennis.
Cremation has taken place at the Harrigan Parkside Crematory and Chapel, and private family services will be held. Expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.harriganparksidefuneralhome.com.
