The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources and UW-Madison Division of Extension want the public to search for aquatic invasive species this weekend.
It’s all part of Snapshot Day, a statewide event connecting volunteers, water lovers, and local groups to search for invasive species in the water.
Anyone interested can register through Water Action Volunteers. There will be a search for invasive species in Manitowoc at Henry Schuette Park on Saturday (August 10th).
Volunteers can show up at 8:30 am to sign in.
It will be followed by a brief training session and then the search for invasive species from 9:30 to 11:30 am.
Today is the last day you can register for the program.
All ages are welcome to help search for invasive species, but the event is recommended for ages 8 and up.
An adult must accompany all minors.
