The Powerboat P1Midwest Challenge is back this weekend, bringing a global boat race competition to the Sheboygan shores of Lake Michigan.
The high-octane event is back for the second year at Sheboygan’s lakeshore on South Pier Drive and will begin today (August 9th) and run until Sunday.
The UIM Class One World Championship will feature boats that can hit 160 miles per hour.
The World Championship will see competitors flock to Sheboygan from nations across the globe including Australia, Italy, and Puerto Rico.
New this year will be the American Powerboat Racing Association’s national championships for 14 different boat classes.
Kicking off the events today will be a Block Party in Downtown Sheboygan at 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. with races to follow on Saturday and Sunday.
