A home south of Whitelaw is considered a complete loss after a fire Friday (August 9th) morning.
Fire Chief Kevin Naidl says at 12:49 am, Whitelaw and Branch firefighters were called to a home in the 1400 block of Hempton Lake Rd. for a house fire with smoke and flames showing.
When they arrived, they found the fire coming out of the second floor window.
Everyone who lived at the home made it outside, so fire crews started attacking the flames.
By 3:30 am, the fire was under control, however firefighters needed to stay on scene to put out hotspots.
Whitelaw and Branch firefighters got help from numerous other emergency organizations, including the Valders, Silver Creek, Collins, Reedsville, Menchalville, Kellnersville, Newton, and Francis Creek fire departments.
Help was also given by Valders Ambulance, Reedsville First Responders, Kellnersville First Responders, Manitowoc County Investigators, Manitowoc County Dispatch, WPS, and Jim’s Excavating.
